Paro International Airport, Paro located in western district of Bhutan (approx 55 minutes drive to reach Thimphu, a capital city of Bhutan) is only international airport which serves as entry point for you by flight in Bhutan.

There are two airlines (Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines) that operate the flights in international sectors as follows:

  1. New Delhi DEL, India,
  2. Kolkata CCU, West Bengal, India,
  3. Guahati GUA, Assam, India,
  4. Bagdora IXB, West Begal, India,
  5. Bangkok BKK, Thailand,
  6. Dhaka DAC, Bangladesh, and
  7. Kathmandu KTM, Nepal.

Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines also operate national sectors as follows:

  1. Bathblathang, Bumthang, and
  2. Yonphula, Trashigang.

In addition to entry and exit through air, it is also possible to enter/exit through surface points like Phuentsholing (south-west) and Samdrup Jongkhar (south-east) which are border towns with state of West Bengal and Assam, India respectively. Nearest airport in India from Phuenstholing is Bagdora Airport which is located 9 km away from Siliguri, West Bengal. Similarly, nearest airport in India from Samdrup Jongkhar is Guahati International Airport, a prominent city in Northeast India located in the Indian State of Assam.
